Norris Lake is a 34,000-acre controlled water source exceeding depths of over 200 ft with 809 miles of shorelines covering five different counties. It exceeds any other TVA tributary lake and is known as one of the clearest and cleanest lakes in TN with is amazing emerald green waters and unique flowing homes. Norris Lake provides excellent opportunities for fishing, skiing, swimming, scuba diving, and kayaking. It has over 50 miles of islands, numerous picnic areas, caves, cliffs, and beaches.
Norris Dam State Park has fifteen trails that are multi-use trails. The trails range in length from .5 mile to 5 miles. The trails travel around the lakeshore, through beautiful valleys, and over ridge tops offering a variety of difficulty for beginners to the more experienced. Mountain biking is allowed on 11 trails covering 22 miles. Equestrian use is also available on designated trails . Trail maps are available online or at the park office. The park also has the Lenoir Museum which displays a large selection of artifacts that portray life in Southern Appalachia from 12,000 years ago to present day. You will want to visit Norris Dam and the Norris Dam State Park to learn more about this area.
